Avicii Biography

There must be something in the water over in Sweden. Not content with already having produced the likes of Eric Prydz, the Swedish House Mafia, John Dahlback and Marcus Schossow, rising through the ranks is the next Swedish superstar smashing the charts and set to take the dance music world by storm!
Tim Bergling aka Avicii is one of the hottest new dance music stars on the planet right now. He first burst on to the scene at the tender age of 18 and released ‘Manman’ on Pete Tong’s Bedroom Bedlam label in April 2008, after winning the Pete Tong Fast Trax competition with an astonishing 70% of the vote and getting support from the likes of Laidback Luke.
Inspired by innovators including Steve Angello, Tocadisco, Eric Prydz and Daft Punk, Tim has created his own very unique, edgy sound that incorporates elements of house, electro and harder, techier styles. But its main trademark is that his music will always, without fail, make you want to dance!
Since his first releases, he has gone on to have worldwide club anthems with ‘Ryu’, ‘Sound of Now’, and the huge hit ‘My Feelings For You’ (with Sebastien Drums), and was voted Breakthrough DJ/Producer of 2009. His incredible production skills are also hugely in demand, and he has already been called up for remix duty by Tiesto, Dizzee Rascal, Little Boots, Robyn and many more.
2010 was another incredible year for Tim. Still only 21, he spent the summer as the resident at Tiesto’s weekly event at Privilege, Ibiza – the world’s biggest club and the White Isle’s number one party. In addition to this he played some of the world’s biggest and best festivals including the Electric Daisy Carnival in LA, supported Tiesto at his huge gig in Victoria Park, London, and went on a worldwide tour. He also mixed CD2 of the ‘Super You & Me’ compilation on Laidback Luke’s Mixmash label and released the huge club smash ‘Seek Bromance’.
Having started life as an instrumental, the vocals of Amanda Wilson were added and the track started to attract fans worldwide. Having reached #1 on the Cool Cuts chart, been Scott Mills’ Record Of The Week on BBC Radio 1 and received huge support from the likes of Pete Tong, the Swedish House Mafia, David Guetta, Tiesto and many more, ‘Seek Bromance’ became one of the biggest dance track of 2010. The sizzling hot video has had an incredible 21 million-plus views on YouTube in the 4 months since the track was released, demonstrating just what a global phenomenon it became.
He may be young, but with this level of skill, success and support already, there can be absolutely no doubt that Tim Berg is the leader of the next wave of DJs setting the agenda for 2011 and beyond.
